About
The Crafty Caches are a series of eight geocaches going from the start of Fox Hagg to the Rivelin dams. The walk is about 3km or 2 miles.
On a sunny day you will get a great walk and a few nice views.
Parking can be found at the small car park for Fox Hagg (N53 22.510 W001 33.932). It doesn’t really get that full, so should be OK most days.
Please note: as the name suggests, the containers have all been crafted for your enjoyment. When finding these ones please make sure:
- The lids are screwed back on properly
- You try not to damage the containers as they took a lot of effort to make
- The caches are replaced in the same place they were hidden
- You don’t take the logsheets out as they are signed for proof of a find (they are not a swap!)
Thanks for following these. Now we can begin the series.
Access
All in the series follow a footpath but wellies are recommended as some days it can get muddy. At one point, you're required to cross a small river on some stepping stones.
Some of the caches require a small climb. Be very careful when retrieving/returning these. Most should be pretty normal terrain.
Acknowledgements
Thanks to Sheffield Wildlife Trust for letting me place these. Much appreciated.
Help
If you need to ask me for an extra hint that’s OK. I will try and reply as soon as I can, but can’t guarantee an instant reply.
Good luck! Happy caching!
This cache is a temporary container, nothing special. We didn't have much of a logsheet on us when replacing so if you have a spare please do use it!
Please note: when finding this one, you will need to take care when retrieving, the cache is located nowhere near the river.
