CACHE
INSPIRATION
In honor of International Cat
Day, I am putting out my second letterbox hybrid. The only other LBH cache
I put out was my Power Line Point of Entry cache which was placed on 2/7/10 and
was archived in September 2011 so it been over 20 years since I have had an
active LBH cache. I am also putting this cache out as the current HQ challenge
requires finding multiple cache types which includes LBH. Theres not as many LBH
caches around, so I am adding one to the game board.
This cache is cat-themed as you
will see when you find it. We have three cats including a brown tabby, an orange
tabby and a black short hair cat. None of which would make a good caching
companion as they hate car rides which is likely due to car rides being
associated with trips to the vet. We love our cats and thought it was fitting to
put a cache out. Now on to finding this cache:
LETTERBOX DIRECTIONS
The listed
coordinates also act as parking coordinates. From the cement blocks head down
the hill towards the Cedar River Trail. Once at the trail, make a right.
Follow the trail
until you come to a more wooded area of the trail on your right. You will be
looking for a social trail that peels off the Cedar River trail on your right.
If you come to a bridge over the Cedar River, you have passed it. To make sure
you dont miss it, I have added a waypoint to mark where you will leave the Cedar
River Trail.
Once off the mail
trail, follow the trail into the woods. Stay left. The trail somewhat ends at a
fallen tree/log. You dont need to go any further than the log. Once there, focus
your search to your right. Look for a small fern growing next to the log. You
will find the hide there.
For those that
choose the high tech route, I have included an additional waypoint for the cache
location. Your walk from the listed/parking coordinates is about .22 miles.
There is an FTF prize for the first finder. Oh yeah, the stamp is NOT the FTF
prize nor is SWAG. It remains in the cache, please.
