Balsiai is one of the oldest private residential areas in Vilnius. Interestingly enough, the names of its streets refer to the old Lithuanian beliefs. Lithuania was the last European country to accept Christianity. Its old believing in the powers of nature is still deeply rooted in the Lithuanian mentality. Balsiai has a mythological park with the sculptures representing ancient Lithuanians gods.
