Los primeros trabajos para hacer realidad el Parque municipal de Sabiñánigo se iniciaron en abril de 1971 y su construcción duró alrededor de cinco años. Hoy en día, el parque municipal cuenta con una superficie total de 22.662 metros cuadrados y está ubicado en el este de Sabiñánigo, al lado de las piscinas municipales.
En el parque hay mas de 1.200 ejemplares de 90 especies de plantas diferentes: desde abedules, árboles del Paraíso, o arces hasta ejemplares de espino albar y secoya gigante. Pero, además de su variedad botánica y del paisaje que lo rodea, lo que hace especial este parque son las piezas de patrimonio arquitectónico que guarda.
En el parque se ubica una parte del ábside semicircular de la iglesia de Santa María procedente de Gavín, una localidad que se encuentra a tres kilómetros de Biescas. La iglesia fue destruida durante la Guerra Civil española y sus restos fueron trasladadas piedra a piedra al parque municipal de Sabiñánigo con la ayuda de los "Amigos de Serrablo".
También podemos encontrar la ventana románica de la iglesia de Castiello de Guarga y capitel de la ermita de Arasilla recogidos en el pueblo despoblado Castiello de Guarga y la pardina de Arasilla que se encuentra a poca distancia de Ipiés.
La cuarta pieza arquitectónica es la pila bautismal que fue recogida en las ruinas de Aineto que se encuentran en la margen izquierda del río Guarga.

The first works to make the Municipal Park of Sabiñánigo a reality began in April 1971 and its construction lasted around five years. Today, the municipal park has a total area of 22,662 square meters and is located in the east of Sabiñánigo, next to the municipal swimming pools.
In the park there are more than 1,200 specimens of 90 different plant species: from birches, Paradise trees, or maples to specimens of hawthorn and giant sequoia. But, in addition to its botanical variety and the landscape that surrounds it, what makes this park special are the pieces of architectural heritage that it keeps.
A part of the semicircular apse of the church of Santa María from Gavín, a town that is three kilometers from Biescas, is located within the park. The church was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and its remains were transferred stone by stone to the municipal park of Sabiñánigo with the help of the "Friends of Serrablo".
We can also find the Romanesque window of the church of Castiello de Guarga and the capital of the hermitage of Arasilla collected in the uninhabited town of Castiello de Guarga and the pardina de Arasilla that is located a short distance from Ipiés.
The fourth architectural piece is the baptismal font that was collected in the ruins of Aineto that are located on the left bank of the Guarga river.
