Rossmore Forest Park is located only two miles southwest of Monaghan Town and covers a large area of approximately six by three miles. Within its bounds are five fishing lakes. The forests are primarily deciduous with numerous fine specimens of oak, ash, spruce, beech, larch, and giant redwood. It also boasts extensive plantings of rhododendron, many of which were planted over a hundred years ago and are a riot of colour in early summer.

There are great walks within Rossmore Forest Park. The park has well-maintained paths, several of which are suitable for wheelchair-bound visitors and cyclists.
This cache is placed on the Twin Lakes loop - near the Twin Lakes in fact.
The loop is 2.6k long, an easy route - follow the white markers.
The loop heads out by Barnhill Lake, before passing between the Twin Lakes and returning to the car park along the main avenue.
