Geocache Description:

Here is my next attempt to bring you to underappreciated, but certainly interesting, places around the neighbourhood!

This cache will bring you up close and personal (but from a perfectly safe and legal distance) with the Penrose Substation.

While you're looking for the cache, take a moment to listen to the humm of the electrons flowing, and to paraphrase Darryl Kerrigan, appreciate man's (and women's, and our enby friends too) ability to generate electricity :)

The Penrose Substation is a key piece of infrastructure in keeping the lights on around Auckland, as well as keeping the majority of our electric trains running. 220,000 Volts comes into Penrose on overhead transmission lines before it is stepped down a few times and passed onto Vector to deliver to your home.

You are looking for a small jar. There is a logbook inside, BYOP.
