This is a quick, very informal meet and greet in Red Rock Park at Lynn Beach, on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM. There is on-street parking. As for seating, there are some benches along the walkway and there is also the sea wall, which can work for sitting. The timing of the event is to see the moonrise of the full moon, which should occur here at 6:23 PM, and earn a smiley while doing so. :)
Moonrise on the date of this event is the closest one to when the moon is technically full, which is early the next morning. Some sources are reporting this will be the fourth supermoon of the year (a supermoon being when the moon is within 90% of its closest orbit to Earth), and other sources aren't calling this one a supermoon, but whichever case it is, this full moon should look a bit larger than average. The moon generally appears extra large when near the horizon due to something often referred to as the Moon Illusion, and that illusion can make the moon look pretty cool.
