Close to downtown Greenfield. Technology demonstrations of clean
and reusable energy sources in a quiet park/garden setting.
The Greenfield Energy Park was created several years ago from city
and private grants to utilize a historical but forgotten area of
Greenfield near the railroad tracks.
Neat place to visit and learn about Greenfield history and
alternative energy sources. Ongoing projects, gardens, free spring
and summer concerts, and gatherings. It is an interesting site to
check out on your way through Greenfield. Please email me the last
name of the creator of the solar train (it's not working currently)
and wind sculptures before you log your visit.

Park
This park is really nice in the summer when the sculptures are
functioning and the grass is green and cool underfoot. Much credit
for the park should go to NESEA. Found some information from NESEA
website- "A new community greenspace graces the heart of downtown
Greenfield, Massachusetts. It is located one mile from Route I-91
and Routes 2, 5 & 10. The mission of this new town park is to
offer a lovely, safe gathering spot for lunches, concerts or
workshops and to provide public education about issues of
sustainable energy in a friendly, non-technical atmosphere. The
entire park is one and one-quarter acres. Funding came from a wide
variety of community, state and federal sources through grant
awards, foundation gifts and individual contributions. The park is
owned by the Town of Greenfield and was built in partnership with
the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), a
not-for-profit membership-based organization. NESEA organized all
demonstration exhibits in the park." The Greenfield Military Band
has made the Park its home base. They offer a free "Pops" concert
four Tuesday evenings in the summer.
The Energy Park is fast becoming the social center for outdoor
entertainment in downtown Greenfield, serving the larger Franklin
County area. Blues, folk, rock, bluegrass, and country musicians
all fill the air with their harmonies. In addition, jugglers,
comedians, mimes, and puppet shows perform at seasonal festivals.
Come check this this new park in the center of Greenfield!
