Geocache Description:

Shortly after entering Pibel Cemetery, the chorus to This Ole House by Stuart Hamblen crept into my mind and accompanied me everywhere I wandered like an old friend at my side. Maybe seeing that old structure in the SE corner got it started… I can’t rightly say, but the song was comfortable, fitting, and an appropriate metaphor for this Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Curiosity prompted an internet search for the lyrics that accompany the chorus. YouTube provided a revealing, poignant back story regarding its creation. Are you curious too? Search on your own or listen to Stuart tell the story after considering that neither the good folks at Groundspeak nor Volunteer Reviewers endorse or have examined this link. Follow it at your own risk. That said, I personally have visited and experienced no problems.

Do you ever wonder which future those who have passed chose? I do and it appears Stuart did as well. Heard at Pibel Cemetery is placed by permission and should be available year-round unless the area has experienced heavy rain, heavy snow, or a service is in progress. Plan your respectful visit accordingly and only during daylight hours.
