So here's the scoop. I'm a bit of a weather nerd. I spend an embarassing amount of time looking at forecasts, watching for snow or storms, wondering about road conditions. So I'm not new at this. But have you ever seen something 100 times but not really seen it? Maybe your brain hasn't processed that info or maybe one day it just popped up! But one day not long ago, I looked at my weather radar and I see THIS:

Anyone from this area who travels the #3 Highway between Medicine Hat & Lethbridge knows the landmarks & locations.
Seven Persons? Check!
Bow Island? Check!
Burdett? Check!
Grassy Lake? Check!
Taber? Check!
Coaldale? Check!
Are any of these on the radar map when I look from Medicine Hat? NOOOOO!
But have you ever heard of Antonio? Weirdest thing ever! None of these more well known locations show up as a reference point for an area which amounts to about 200km of distance on a radar map. Kinda narrows things down! Except it doesn't. I actually researched this and head out one day on a quest to find this mysterious place! What I discovered, despite tireless effort and lack of an actual side-by-side or sherpa for hire to get myself there, was that I could not locate this mysterious mapdot! It even has it's own postal code! It is said to be located about halfway between Grassy Lake & Purple Springs, just off the highway with no access that I could find. I could see a route on the satellite map but could not access it. My research tells me that there was once a one room schoolhouse located there from 1912 - 1927 which as many as 35 local students attended at any one time. Another example of times gone by...
...but why is it on the radar map? Lol
Others have had my same question! Where the heck IS Antonio? Watch this!

Because I could not place this tribute cache about the mysterious "Antonio", I have placed it as close as possible where you can safely park off the #3 highway. From here, Antonio is located a small distance just SW of the cache. It's really not a special cache at all.... but the story sure is!

Have fun and happy caching!
