A cache in the heart of the Lincoln Wetlands. It replaces the final of an earlier multi, Step On Thru, which timed out after its WP1 was not replaced.
Stepping stones lead across an arm of the lake. Only attempt this causeway if the stepping stones are visible. An alternative short route to the cache leaves from Jimmy Adams Terrace. In all seasons, the longer loop from the Lincoln Wetlands carpark on Ellesmere Road will take you past a variety of caches on a scenic walk, resplendent with aquatic birds.
Even if the stepping stones are above water, exercise care when accompanying young children.
The cache is not visible from the path, but is very obvious with just two steps off the path, behind and looking up. A stretch up is required. The cache is tethered as the ground area floods occasionally. Take care to replace exactly as found behind tī kōuka leaves, so the cache remains hard to see from the path. If the tether breaks please message the CO.
Do not attempt the causeway if the stepping stones are under water, even if you enjoy wading. One slip and the short cut may cause long delays: a longer loop in time than the route that follows a longer loop in space.
