Prepare yourself for an approximately 5km walk; Park anywhere in Whakapapa Village and make your way to the trailhead, which also conveniently has toilets; it is approximately 100m uphill from the visitors centre. Start your way up the well formed track until you reach the picnic bench.
From the picnic bench, there's some scrubby single track that meanders its way up the hill. Keep following until you are on the ridge crest and then continue up the ridge till you reach an open rocky area and keep heading uphill a bit, then veer right to find GZ. The Cache Name describes the one you are looking for.
This is meant to be an easy find, but Please replace & tuck away securely so it doesn't get blown or washed away in this Alpine environment, where the weather can be extreme at times .
