Autumn is here! The air is cool and crisp, and the leaves are putting on their coats of many colors. It's my favorite time of year, so let's get together and celebrate!!
The location is the same as previous years, a park located behind the Dumfries-Triangle Fire Station on Rte.1, north of the Quantico Marine Base main gate. It features a large covered pavilion, built-in grill, playground, volleyball & basketball courts, electricity, a sound system, & indoor plumbing. The listed coordinates are for the parking lot entrance on Old Triangle Road, which runs behind the fire station parallel to Rte. 1. To avoid any intereference with FD operations, please do not enter from Rte. 1 or park at the station itself. From the south, get off I-95 at exit 150 and bear right on the ramp. Go through the intersection at Rte.1 toward the base, make the next left onto Fuller Heights Rd, & then the next left on Old Triangle. The entrance is on the left about a mile north. From the north, take exit 152A, Rte. 234 toward Dumfries. Turn right onto Rte. 1, left on Graham Park Rd, & right at the 4-way stop sign onto Old Triangle. Entrance will be on the right. A sign will be there to help you find us.
The event is rain or shine. The main pavillion is well sheltered, so we can still have a good time no matter what Mother Nature brings. We’d love to see lots of old and new friends, including members of other Geocaching clubs, visiting cachers, and any friends or family you care to bring. Kids and pets are most welcome, and the entire area is fenced in so they can run around freely with no fear of escape. Meats for grilling, condiments, plates, napkins, utensils, & cups will be provided. You may bring along a side dish or dessert to share if you like, and your beverage of choice.
