Welcome to Mount Olive Fire Station 1
The Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department, founded in October 1880, is one of the oldest departments in Macoupin County, It serves the Mount Olive Fire Protection District, and its almost 4000 residents including the City of Mount Olive, the Villages of White City and Lake Kaho, and other rural areas. It includes I-55 from a[[roximately MM 42 to 51. As of August 2023, there are 33 volunteers on the Department serving under Chief Donnie Nowell.
This is the GadgetCache #4 in Mount Olive, the unofficial Caching Capital of Macoupin County. The cache is right off of Route 138, with shoulder side parking, hidden in plain sight, and will present you a challenge
How to get the log? that is the question...
No lock, No door, but you need a decision...
The tube will fall easy, not be pulled or pried
Work the cache correctly... and log your find.
Seriously... you will NOT have to muscle it, the release will happen with an easy action(s) ... no need overpower, overtwist it, hit it, etc. When you are done, reset the cache as you found it by inserting and pushing the preform tube up until it locks.

An easy grass walk to the cache.
