This series is along the Baw Beese Walking Trail and this trail is also part of the North Country Trail.
Parking is found at the corner of Griswold and Barnard Streets and in all three parks along the public side of the lake. Those three parks are named Waterworks Park, Owens Park, and Sandy Beach. Sometimes a fee is charged to enter Sandy Beach.

Baw Beese Lake has an interesting history. Originally, there was no road leading to Owens Park or Sandy Beach along the lakeshore. So in the 1950's a road began to take shape. What material did the city use to build the road?
