 ![]() Mt. Jonea has achieved such recognition in the geocaching community, it's a testament to their dedication, skills, and passion for geocaching. Geocaching is a hobby that requires perseverance, problem-solving, and a sense of adventure. Achieving a high number of finds and worldwide recognition is certainly impressive and speaks to their commitment to the activity.
There are many legends related to how Jonea have so many finds, some said that he has minions, some said he owns a helicopter. In Romania he managed to do the whole crest of Făgăraș Mountains in just one day with all the caches. You think that's impossible, an ultramaraton champ did it in 14 hours (without caches of course).
Finally we found out what the truth is:
Legends speak of a geocacher of great renown that goes by the name of MT Jonea. Upon visiting Romania, he decided to accomplish a feat never before attempted by man, geocacher or muggle alike: to find all the caches hidden in the Făgărași Mountains in a single day. People across the land considered him a madman, no way he could accomplish such a task. How could he search every nook and cranny in such a short time, with such steep slopes and high altitudes?
As MT Jonea arrived at the base of the mountain early in the morning, he stumbled upon a Romanian black goat. "A good companion this goat will make" Jonea said as pulled out of his bag a magical Czech potion: Kofola. Curiosity drew the goat ever closer. With a pop of the cap, the dark bubbly liquid flowed through its throat and imbued it with infinite energy. No longer an ordinary goat this was, but one that would forever wield the powers of Kofola.
Successfully taming the goat, Jonea hopped onto its back and rode it across the entire length of the Făgărași Mountains. Cache after cache, peak after peak, they logged and they strode. Against the difficulty of the terrain and weather, the pair prevailed. They did not show any sign of weakness or fatigue. With its teeth, the goat would open each cache without damaging it, for MT Jonea to sign the log, then with a kick of its hoofs would send it back into its place as they began their stride towards the next one.
As the sun was about to set, they finally achieved their goal, finding the last cache of their incredible adventure. Trully, this day stands as a testament of the companionship between man and beast. Such are things that only upon relying on each other were they able to accomplish such a feat, never before achieved by geocacher or muggle alike.
Some say that if you open a bottle of Kofola near this cache, you will summon MT Jonea's goat and that it will carry you across the entire length of Făgărași in an attempt to help you find all the other caches.
