So this CITO has a bit of a twist to it as some garbage can only be accessed by boat, some will be much easier to see from a boat but might need to be collected by someone on shore, and plenty just needs to be picked up. So, there is lots of teamwork on this CITO to try and clean up the area as much as possible before winter.
For those who like the idea of bringing your boats be aware that winds can significantly affect wave action in the area so check conditions before launching. For those who would rather not boat there is a lovely paved path along the waters edge. Everyone will be able to access garbage to pick up, the main section of path I believe is just over 3kms from the parking area,
The City of Hamilton has donated garbage bags, recycling bags gloves and graffiti remover cloths. So be sure to bring your grabby sticks and anything else you might find handy like rubber boots or even waders if you want to go after stuff just a bit wetter.
Be warned that the drop off into the water is quit steep so be careful along the edges. There are also a lot of areas with 8-12" rocks that are just waiting to turn an ankle so be careful please. With lower water levels visibility should be good to see things to avoid issues.
