Geocache Description:

Tamworth Wetlands Wander 5.2

This is a reincarnation of Tamworth Wetlands Wander 5.1, which was a re-incarnation of Tamworth Wetlands Wander 5. The host of this cache has deteriorated over time so I have had to position a new cache in a more robust position.

Tamworth Hill Swamp Tamworth Hill Swamp is a freshwater sumpland situated in the Stakehill suite of wetlands. The wetland is subject to a number of protection mechanisms, including:

• Inclusion in the Rockingham Lakes Regional Park management boundary;

• Bush Forever (Bush Forever Site 356);

• Parks and Recreation zoning under the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS).

• A Conservation Category Wetland (CCW) classification by the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC); and

• Identification as an EPP Lake, as outlined in the EPA’s Environmental Protection (Swan Coastal Lakes) Policy (EPA, 1992).

Tamworth Hill Swamp is also part of Regional Ecological Linkage – R122. Regional ecological linkages (also known as green corridors) comprise of regionally significant vegetation that is to be protected for the purpose of reducing habitat fragmentation caused by clearing for development.

The Cache

Its a nice wander on this path, great for the kids and the dogs (on a lead)

This cache is just off the path, and down low. Magnetic. (Dont worry, not a nano)  Plenty of hidey spots but feel free to check the hint.

Not sure how it got here or how long its here but you wont need to go in deep. It's Wheely weird how it got here.
