Do you enjoy a challenge? After I had been caching for a while, I realized that I enjoyed working towards the goals that challenge caches offer. It gives my caching some direction, so to speak (no pun intended). When I leave home, I'm not just thinking, "what cache should I go find?" I'm thinking "what cache can I find that will help me achieve a challenge?" Do I need more Earthcaches? Do I need more Large caches (the answer to both of these questions is still yes!).
There are some very creative challenges out there. Sometimes they make me laugh like the Very Tough Kids Challenge where caches need to have the attributes for "recommended for kids" as well as "ticks nearby, thorns nearby, poisonous plants nearby, and dangerous animals".
Challenges have inspired me to go to more events, to expand my caching to higher and lower elevations, to find caches in 7 states in one day, to fill in my 4 big grids, to find my "birthday cache" (a cache that was placed on the day I started caching - I had to go to Ontario, Canada for that one), and so much more.
Let challenge caches expand your caching horizons. You won't regret it. I love to sign challenge caches that I don't yet qualify for. I currently have 85 signed challenges that I cannot yet log. I'm slowly working towards all of them. Project-GC helps me keep track of them. My hope is that this cache inspires people to go find more challenge caches.
To log this cache you must have found and logged (100) caches with the "Challenge Cache" attribute. The D/T is based on the qualifications to meet the challenge. The actual D/T would be 1.5/1.5.
