Access Information
This cache is 2WD accessible. Access is via Newcarlbeon Road (unsealed for 1.27km) from the Koorda-Kulja Road (sealed). Caravans and towing vehicles are able to access the site with turning loops at both the tank and camping grounds.
Facilities Information
Camping is at Newcarlbeon Rock is permitted in the designated area for free. The site features a fire pit, picnic table, shelter and a toilet. Please note that fires are prohibited between 1 November and 31 January and during Total Fire Ban (TFB) periods.
General Information
Newcarlbeon Rock is located 21km north of Koorda. During late winter and spring this reserve has a pictureseque display of wildflowers and beautiful panoramic views from the top of the rock. The reserve has both historic and social significance as this is the site of the first known permanent settlement in the district and was also important as a watering place for the shepherds, surveyors, sandalwood pullers and others in their wandering lives
A short walk to the east of the camping ground you will find a water tank. The tank was constructed in 1937 with a capacity of 227,000 gallons. A low rock wall was also constructed around the catchment area at this time.

Cache Information
This cache is a 1L Sistema with painted camouflage. The cache included toy swaps for the kids, a pen and a logbook at time of placement. There is room for trackables in this cache.
