Access Information
This cache is 2WD accessible. Access is via the Wallambin Road and Gnuca-Nalkain Road (unsealed for 1.92km) from the Wyalkatchem-Koorda Road (sealed). It is not recommended that caravans or towing vehicles travel to the site due to the lack of a formal turn around.
General Information
This cache is located at the site of the former Nalkain Hall and School.
Lot 21 was the original site for this building but in 1919 this was changed to lot 31. Funded by the Nalkain Progress Association, the building started in November 1919. The hall was used as a school until 1942. The building had deteriorated by 1959 and part of the roof had been blown away. Permission was given to local residents to demolish the building and use the salvage to build a shed at the local tennis courts. This was done and all that remains of the hall are some stumps and a sign that was fixed in 1988 to celebrate a reunion of pupils and teachers.
Cache Information
This cache is a 200mL clip lock container with painted camouflage. The cache included toy swaps for the kids, a pen and a logbook at time of placement. There is room for trackables in this cache.
