Access Information

This cache is 2WD accessible. Access is via Cowcowing West Road and Bennett Street (unsealed for 5.6km) from the Wyalkatchem-Koorda Road (sealed). Caravans and towing vehicles are able to access the site but will need to loop using roads or undertake a three point turn.

General Information

Red Dam was built during the depression years and was in use until the 1970's. A pump run by a diesel engine was used to raise the water from the dam to a standpipe close to the road. Water was used by farmers and carted in tankers. If the town of Cowcowing had been built, this would have been the water supply.

Cache Information

This cache is a 200mL clip lock container with painted camouflage. The cache included toy swaps for the kids, a pen and a logbook at time of placement. There is room for trackables in this cache.

As is always the case, please make sure that you return the cache as found, to ensure that future geocachers enjoy the same experience that you do.
