The Michigan Lost Town Series was popular in Michigan for many years, but its website has been archived.  This is the second rendition of MLT Lodi.  The original was part of a past Are You Geocacher Enough Road Rally, adopted by this cache owner a number of years ago.  The containers have broken down over time and today rather than replace it yet again, a new cache was created.  There was only one multi-cache in Kalkaska County that I either don't own (as my Silent Whistles series) or that I had not found, and I needed one for the MiGO Michigan County Grid Challenge.  I will maintain this cache for years to come so others might also qualify in Kalkaska County.

Town Name: Lodi

The town of Lodi, while still having a population, is not what it used to be.  When the white pine were logged off, much of what had been Lodi followed the lumberjacks elsewhere.

Population: Unknown

Reason For Becoming a Lost Town:

Once the lumber ran out, so did the work. Men followed the work and so did the stores, rails and services.  Lodi was a Lumber Boom Town, but this little town on M66 still has a small country store, township hall, an operational seed farm and an auto repair shop.
