Come visit the Sholan Farms orchard and discuss cache maintenance! Plus, this is the last day of the Wheel of Challenges - get points for attending this event and maybe visiting some favorited caches in the region.
We'll take this 30 minutes to gather at the picnic tables next to the Sholan Farms mini-barn. Cache owners will have a chance to talk about the lengths they've gone for cache maintenance and offer tips to keep this part of the game fun and easy.
The event title is a bit dramatic, but comes from a previous log and describes my last cache maintenance run to Terminal Width (GC3H5FF). It's the first cache I ever hid, back in 2012, so it has sentimental value. The trail it was placed on has been long-abandoned by the town, and the area has been reclaimed by thickets of vines, tall grasses, prickers, raspberries, grapes, as well as hidden streams and boulders. The logs being left now are amazing!
An optional trek to Terminal Width (across the street) will take place after the event. Wear long pants and any other protection you can think of if you'd like to join me on this end-of-the-year maintenance run. The event itself is kid-friendly. The optional hike after the event probably isn't. Although having a small person to send through gaps in the vines might come in useful...
Any purchases at the Sholan Farms orchard are your responsibility. I hope to see you there!
