Geocache Description:

This is the second of 4 caches where I have caught trout in the Black Hills. This is by the Silver City walk-in area on the Deerfield Trail.

Why is my second one called Trout Bum 3? Let's just say there were technical difficulties with #2.

This is a fairly easy cache (or very easy) depending on how you approach it.

If you park at the trailhead for the Silver City Walk-In Fishing Area, there is a small incline you must negotiate to reach it. A little easier from the left side. Turns out, there's a forest road off to the right just before the parking area. If you don't want to walk/hike up the little incline, you can either walk back to the road, or I would imagine you could just drive right up.

I had to move the cache because it was too close to another, and while doing so, I made a cool discovery. There is an old cabin that is part of a restoration project. It is called Gorman Cabin. There's a little history behind it, but I'll let you read about it while you're caching.

You're looking for a small, silver cylinder (in honor of Silver City).

You will need to bring your own writing utensil. After you sign the log, roll it up and stick it the base of the cap. Makes it easier for the next person to get it out.

Have fun.
