Geocache Description:

Garden City Community Park is a combination of a traditional park like atmosphere provided by formal lawns and specimen trees of the Arboretum. The arboretum is envisioned to be a living museum of trees that originate from various regions of the Pacific Rim that are hardy in the maritime Pacific. The purpose of this garden is to test-grow and display a great diversity of woody plants.

The tree collection has been divided into two groups. Those of the west side of the site have their origins in Asian/Oceanic countries bordering the western side of the Pacific Ocean, such as China, Japan and Korea. Trees growing within the eastern half of the Arboretum are native to the Americas, specifically from regions with a Pacific coastline.
