I remember a few years after the earthquakes, when the houses were all vacant but hadn't been demolished yet, coming here to pick flowers for my sister's wedding. The gardens of the old weatherboard houses were still beautiful. All gone now, only the trees remain - like the old apple tree near GZ.
This is now a wonderful area to come walking, with plenty of space for dogs to play. Quiet enough that spending a little more time at GZ is pleasant, I hope.
Please be gentle with the cache, a little wriggle to get things moving is fine but any more force than that means you're going about it the wrong way and might break it. There are instructions to help replace the cache if you need them, inside it.
