Geocache Description:

The cache at this location was once a part of the Fargo-Moorhead Geo-tour.  Permission has been given from the local establishment and the previous cache owner to establish a cache once again.    The cache container is located outside of the gate.  It is not necessary to enter the building or interact with the staff to discover the cache.  The container may be difficult to reach during the winter if there has been a large snowfall.  Please use stealth while searching.

As you are searching or after you have signed the log to receive a smiley, you may want to imagine a scene just on the other side of the gate. A scene that may go like this:

  • Down the street sits the first house in Fargo named “Elm Street House”.   What would it have been like for Harry Moore to have lived in the home close to the Red River?
  • If you lived in Osgood during the late 1800’s, would you have shopped at the Furnberg Store.  As you were shopping you may hear the rattle of the train nearby.
  • Can you hear the Dobrinz school bell ring in Mapleton Township to call children grades one – eight into the one room school house to learn reading, writing and arithmetic?

An Adventure Lab is available to provide further information regarding more of the exhibits housed within the gates.  The Adventure Lab can only be completed at times and days the Village is open.  An admission fee is charged to enter.
