Geocache Description:

Taken from the MDC site for Port Hudson Lake CA:

"The 225-acre area was acquired in 1989-90 and named after the small community of Port Hudson, located two miles southeast. The 55-acre lake and facilities were developed in 1992 and 1993. Lake elevation is 700 feet. The lake opened for fishing March 31, 1997."

This geocache is the first in a series that I have planned to take geocachers to Conservation Areas (CA) in Franklin County.  Franklin county has several CA's that are open to the public that allow you to go fishing, hunting, bird watching and many other outdoor activities.  And of course Geocaching!  They can range from just a few acres in size to a few thousand acres in size.

You will be looking for a regular size container in a wooded area.  As with any time you are in the great outdoors of Missouri, be mindful of poison ivy and Ticks.  There is room in container for items.  Please replace just like you found it, so future cachers can enjoy the hunt for it too.

A FTF coin is there for the first cacher that finds it.

***Congratulations to Major134 for FTF***
