What Do I Do If I See A Bear?
Bud's house will be closed July 21 through August 15 for maintenance to replace the wood shake roof, but this does not affect the virtual cache, which is down the trail.
Turn on Cherokee Orchard Road (light #8) in Gatlinburg, TN, to access the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail.
This virtual cache is at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You will enjoy a beautiful hike along a short loop trail, highlighted by interesting historic structures. There is a useful pamphlet available for purchase at the parking area.
To get credit for this virtual:
Hike along the nature trail that starts behind Bud's cabin (look for the sign) to arrive at the coordinates.
You must email us and tell:
1 - What was 'Bud's' full name?
2 - How many steps comprise the wooden staircase within the structure at the coordinates above?
You must physically walk to this cache location to get credit for this cache. This in NOT a so-called "armchair" virtual that you log from your sofa. False logs are NOT tolerated and they will be deleted.
Do not post the answers in your log here, we will have to delete them. Good luck, enjoy the harsh and beautiful surroundings of our forefathers, and happy hunting!
