Geocache Description:

堀川は、愛知県名古屋市を流れる庄内川水系の一級河川です。江戸時代初期建築資材運搬用の運河として伊勢湾から名古屋城付近まで開削されたことがそのルーツだそうです。その後、明治初期において庄内川からの取水を開始し、庄内川水系に属する形となっています。
