Welcome to Cora Harrison Preserve! This property was originally purchased by the Town of Hastings using the Florida Community Trust Grant to protect the wetland habitat here. When the Town of Hastings dissolved, the property was transferred over to St Johns County. Several plant species here indicate a wetland habitat to include various typs of trees like cypress, swamp bay, water oak. Other herbaceous plants like ferns and purple pickerel weed are also great indicators.
The cache here might trick you if you are looking. It will be found along the boardwalk that winds through the wetland. The hint is in the name. You will not need to step off the boardwalk but be sure to put the log back in the cache, secure the top to the bottom, and plant back on the log.
