THE SLAGA TWELVE DAYS OF CACHEMAS ARE BACK!!!
Here’s how it works: For 12 consecutive days beginning December 13th (Day 1), a new cache
will be published and every day afterwards until December 24th. If you are able to First to Find,
FTF, one of these daily caches, an FTF Cachemas Ornament will be in the container for you to
keep. Once again, L Frank has designed a unique ornament that can be converted to a cache
container for a future hide; or, you may keep it, your choice. PLEASE, if you get an FTF on one
of the 12 days, do not go for another one until Bonus Day, let someone else have the fun.
This year, there will be a Bonus Cache on December 30th. EVERYONE is eligible to FTF the
bonus whether or not you have FTFed a Cachemas hide. This cache can only be found by using
all the codes found inside of the container of each daily cache. Keep these codes and use
them to solve the location of the Bonus cache which will publish on December 30th. The method
to solve the Bonus will be included in the final day Cache description, and I am promised, it is
not a difficult solution. We are publishing the Bonus six days after Day 12 in order to give
cachers extra time to acquire any codes they may need.
THE BONUS CACHE CONTAINS TWO LARGE PREMIUM GEOCOINS
AS WELL AS AN AWESOME ORNAMENT
This Geocache Description:
CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES
Merry Cachemas!
For the bonus cache this year I thought I’d tell you a little tale of how our household decorates for Christmas.
|
We start off with the outside decorations as those rely on relatively nice weather. Typically as soon as Thanksgiving is over a 50 degree day in the forecast is sought out. Icicle lights are strung from the gutters with the assistance of a ladder. Strands of lights are weaved around the porch rails. On the lamp post, garland & lights are spun around and around to cover the entire length top to bottom with fake poinsettias tucked in between. Lighted candy canes are added to the beds on either side of the porch, the bed around the post, and the curved walk. Also in these beds some artificial flowers are added to fill things out. Finally some flashing bells are hung from the porch light and awning.

The inside is worked on gradually as the season goes on as it’s at least a bit warmer there than out in the elements. Of course immediately starting December 1st the Advent calendars come out so we can follow the days leading up. After that, one of the first decorations put out are the candles which sit on the windowsills. Then of course you’ve got the tree itself. Not sure where everyone falls with the artificial vs. real debate but for my entire life (to this point) we’ve had a fake one. Light strands are placed all around it. Can’t forget the star at the tippy top! A handmade latch hook skirt adorns the bottom which is where the presents will be nestled with care. We have more ornaments than we know what to do with so we pick the ones we really like and hang those, the rest get relegated to the box for consideration next year. We have a few special varieties which go in specific places. There are these stained-glass ones which are hung off of the dining room chandelier, they look really nice with the light shining through. Glittery snowflakes get hung from the ceiling fans and the window valances. |

That pretty much does it! The house is now decorated and ready for the Christmas season. Hopefully you’ve been following along and reading carefully. You should have all the information you need. Good luck and happy hunting!
