Geocache Description:

Many cachers place caches down modeled after their favorite bands. I've completed caches about The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Motörhead, The Grateful Dead, and many others. I figured it's time I placed a band-themed cache of my own, which probably won't be one familiar to many.

My first experience with Carbon Leaf was actually a song of theirs in a children's movie I watched a long time ago. I remembered the song one day at work and searched it up. After discovering the band, I quickly grew to love many of their other songs as well. They're an indie-folk rock band with songs about life, love, and exploration. I enjoy listening to them while caching or doing other activities, and although they may be a bit of an acquired taste to some, their catchy rythyms and heartfelt lyrics make them a favorite of mine. Here are some of my favorite songs of theirs:

Life Less Ordinary: One of their most well-known songs, Life Less Ordinary is an enthusiastic invitation to a life filled with adventure and exploration. This song was featured in the movie Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey, where I first heard it as a child.

Paloma: Paloma is a song with a fantastic buildup about self-worth and building character. The climax of the song is one of my favorites of the band's songs.

Mary Mac: A lively fireside jig, Mary Mac combines witty lyrics with gradually increasing tempo, resulting in a fast-paced song that I think would be great for karaoke. By the end of the song, the tempo is so fast that it's hard to hear the words!

This is My Song: This is My Song personifies concepts such as luck and hope to weave an enthusiastic tale about staying hopeful and positive through the many trials and tribulations of life. I like this song because it gives tangible narratives to abstract emotions, which makes for an interesting combination.

Let Your Troubles Roll By: This is probably my favorite song of all of theirs. Let Your Troubles Roll By is about loss and going forward from difficult times. I tend to listen to this song a lot when I'm feeling down. This song was also featured partially in Curious George 2.

What About Everything: What About Everything is one of the more abstract songs of Carbon Leaf's, and one of my favorites as well. The song details the joys and responsibilities of life, and how much everything really matters in the end.

The War Was In Color: Taking a very different tone from most of their other songs, The War Was In Color is sung from the perspective of a veteran lamenting about the terrors and hardships of war. The song is very moving, and its somber nature paints a beautiful picture in my head every time I listen to it.

Desperation Song: Lastly, Desperation Song is a tale about remaining hopeful in difficult times. It has a catchy rythym and a fun tone. Interestingly, the first time I heard this song I was caching, and the line of the song, "Ring Around the Lake" played as I was hiking around a lake!

Oh, right. The cache. Here are the numbers you'll need:

16, 23, 20, 10, 46, 6, 2, 6.

With all this information, you should be set to find the cache. Best of luck! No FTF prize this time, unfortunately.
