Geocache Description:

This is a fun little jaunt for someone interested in the historical background of this spot. There are a few spots along the way (detailed below) requiring information-gathering to prove you completed the path. We'd love to hear your impressions of the task! We also planted "Longview's Second", so enjoy your visit to Longview!

First stop is the main site coordinates of 32 degrees 28.001N by 94 degrees 43.746W. When there, fill in the blanks: "M________ of M________ and M________".

Second stop is close by at 32 degrees 28.018N by 94 degrees 43.745W. Fill in these blanks "1888 - ________" and "1900 - _______". Don't forget to read the historical marker located between stops #1 and #2!

Stop #3 starts your free walking tour by heading to 32 degress 28.036N by 94 degrees 43.724W. Send us the Bible reference found there.

Stop #4 takes you a little further in by heading to 32 degrees 28.029N by 94 degrees 43.630W. Send us the name of the last person on the plackard as proof of having visited here.

Stop #5 is at 32.467553 by -94.726317. This is the doorway to a little free museum display you need to look at to answer this question. Please report one of the objects found in a glass display case in the lobby area.

Stop #6 is at 32 degrees 28.052N by 94 degrees 43.398W. Fill in these blanks for credit of having visited this spot: "_______ ________ Chapel".

This pretty much concludes the walking tour. The distance traversed caused the recommendation of a territory ranking of "2". There is one more stop to complete the historical picture, but you may want to drive to it. It is at 32 degrees 27.637N by 94 degrees 43.929W. Report the name on the sign for extra credit! ;-) E-mail your answers to verify your finds. Don't post them here even if encrypted (unless you can get the museum hours which need to be public record).

Thanks for visiting my Alma Mater (CSE, class of 1989)!

P.S. Step 5 was relocated in the summer of 2019 from the previous location of the original Student Center building (up on the second floor of the building with the big berm around it which is a great place to get a good campus overview, if you can obtain access during business hours), so that was the reason for the most recent edit. Let me know if you think I should convert the other locations similarly to the decimal degree format which I believe is more common nowadays.
