Geocache Description:

The  Leonardo Bridge

Leonardo da Vinci designed a bridge that consists of pieces of wood wedged into each other. The bridge is self-supporting, where no fixing agents such as dowels, screws or nails are necessary. Da Vinci used the "self-locking mechanism" as a basis, in which the structure strengthens itself under the load.

This bridge here was built by an Umeanite in honor of da Vinci. Screws and bolts were used in this version to ensure people's safety, as well as a railing added for ease of use.

The cache is located at the bridge in the photo, not in the surrounding forrest.
