SideTracked - Liverpool Street (Event)
This Event is to celebrate the 112th anniversary of Britain's first underground escalators. These were introduced on the 4th of October 1911 at Earl's Court underground station, connecting the Piccadilly Line with the District Line. Since public transport is used to help get us around to geocaches, I thought it appropriate to celebrate this anniversary.
It would have been more appropriate to hold this Event at Earl's Court but it would have been a late one by the time I travelled across London. So I decided to hold it near where I work, at Liverpool Street station near some escalators. This is at one end of the small concourse where there are a few benches and it is out of the way of the busy communters rushing home. There is a terrace immediately outside where we could gather (weather permitting - remember it is Autumn).
Join the host to tell your tall tales of geocaching, your favourite caches, difficult puzzles and all things geocaching and bring along any trackables to swap.
There are amenities in and around the station should anyone wish to get food or drink.
