Four banal de Nax

Le four banal de Nax fût créé en 1911, puis progressivement abandonné à l'apparition de deux boulangeries dans les années 30. Complètement oublié vers 1955, le four banal de Nax tombe alors en décrépitude. Le four banal de Nax fût rénové en 1992 par la société de développement du village et la bourgeoisie de Nax. Une confrérie du four à pain s'est aussitôt constituée qui, dès lors, n'a eu cesse d'entretenir une nouvelle animation dans le village de Nax : la cuisson de différents pains au four banal de Nax. Soutenue par plus de 170 confrères, la fabrication artisanale a lieu quatre à cinq fois par an et redonne au four banal de Nax sa vie d'antan. Une vente de pains est alors organisée. 

The banal oven

The common oven in Nax was created in 1911, then gradually abandoned with the appearance of two bakeries in the 1930s. Completely forgotten around 1955, the Nax bakery oven fell into disrepair. The Nax bakery was renovated in 1992 by the village development company and the Nax bourgeoisie. A brotherhood of the bread ovens was immediately formed, which from then on has never ceased to maintain a new activity in the village of Nax: the baking of various types of bread in the Nax common oven. Supported by more than 170 colleagues, the artisanal production takes place four or five times a year and gives back to the common oven of Nax its life of yesteryear. A bread sale is then organised. 

The tourist office of Nax Region takes reservations for the purchase of bread baked in the Nax common oven.
