Deze cache ligt dichtbij het hart van de Zernike campus voor het Willem-Alexander Sportcentrum.
Rond dit studenten-sportcentrum vind je verscheidene gebouwen van de RUG en vooral van de Hanze
Aan het Zernikeplein vind je bijvoorbeeld de van Doorenveste, de Brugsmaborg en de van Olst-toren.
In deze gebouwen aan het Zernike plein vind je alleen maar studenten van de Hanze.
Naast het studenten-sportcentrum vind je buiten een beachvolleybalveld en aan de andere kant een voetbal- en basketbalkooi.
Aanvankelijk was de naam van het gebouw de ‘Sportdiamant’ voordat het vernoemd werd naar de toenmalige kroonprins Willem-Alexander.
Gezien groenblauwe “dakvleugels” was dit eerste een toepasselijke naam.
En het sportcentrum is niet het enige gebouw met een uniek design op het Zernike.
Binnen zijn er een sporthal, turnhal, verscheidene andere sportzalen en een zwembad te vinden.
Uiteraard wordt er niet alleen maar gesport in het sportcentrum, het blijft een gebouw van de Hanze.
Instituut voor de sportstudies is de afdeling die het sportcentrum vooral gebruikt voor hun lessen.
Studenten zijn verder de enigen die wat in de gebouwen te zoeken hebben, vaak zijn ze van binnen helemaal niet zo bijzonder :)
Je hoeft voor de cache NIET in de bosjes te zoeken. De cache bevindt zich op een overdag druk stukje. Als je gaat zoeken is het opletten geblazen en ik raad dan ook aan de cache niet tijdens de leswisselingen te zoeken op een doordeweekse dag. Richting de avond of ’s weekends is het hier altijd een stuk rustiger, ’s weekends is het sportcentrum normaliter dicht. 😉 Veel plezier met zoeken!

This cache is located near the heart of the Zernike campus, in front of the Willem-Alexander Sports Centre. Around this sports centre, you will find various buildings of the RUG (University of Groningen) and especially of the Hanze. At Zernikeplein, you will find, for example, the van Doorenveste, the Brugsmaborg, and the van Olst tower. In these buildings on Zernikeplein, you will only find Hanze students.
Next to the student sports centre, you will find an outdoor beach volleyball court, and on the other side, a football and basketball cage. Initially, the name of the building was the 'Sport Diamond' before it was renamed after the then Crown Prince Willem-Alexander. The sport diamond was an appropriate name, given the green-blue roof wings.
And the students sports centre is not the only building with a unique design at the Zernike campus. Inside the Willem-Alexander sport centre, there is a sports hall, gymnastics hall, various other sports halls and a swimming pool. Of course, sports are not the only courses in the sports centre; it remains a building of the Hanze. The Institute for Sports Studies is the department that mainly uses the sports centre for their lessons. Students who want to swim at the ACLO will have to come here, as this is the only swimming pool.
You do NOT need to search in the bushes for the cache. The cache is located in a busy spot during the day. If you are going to search, you need to be vigilant, and I also recommend not searching for the cache during class changes on a weekday. Towards the evening or at weekends, it is always much quieter here, and the sports center is usually closed at weekends. 😉 For the hint, use google translate or images, it is only in Dutch. Good luck!
