Haven't been to one of these sessions yet? No problem, there's still a chance for you to get involved. Drop into the Parramatta Bike Hub and get creative as part of a community art project. Drive, ride or walk - it's a delightful part of the city to explore.
The Neighbours Nurturing Nature Community Art Project is reusing/repurposing banner fabric into a new artwork that will be installed outside the Parramatta Bike Hub. The Parramatt Bike Hub is a social enterprise that gives people access to bikes and the opportunity to learn how to ride in a safe space anbd become part of a supportive community.
We will mainly be focusing on crochet, but if you have macrame or knot typing skills, this could also be incorporated. Even if you don't have those crafty skills, you can still help to make yarn out of the banners. Individuals will make small sections and they will all be joined together into the final piece.
I will be there to show you how to make yarn from banner fabric and how to crochet (Brewmaker is exepmt as his previous attempts at learning to crochet were unsuccessful). All materials will be supplied.
All help is welcome, but you are also free to drop-in for a chat and a cuppa and to sign the logbook.
