Nestled amidst the towering trees, lay the mysterious geocache hidden in the eerie rock ledges. Back in the days when the railroads still ran through this forsaken stretch of wilderness, locomotives would approach this spot with trepidation.
The legends whispered of monstrous creatures that lurked in the depths of the woods, creatures with gnarled limbs and eyes gleaming with malevolence. Passengers aboard the trains spoke of the terror that would seize their hearts as the locomotives sped up, rattling and roaring, to pass this haunted place. It was said that when the trains drew near, the creatures emerged from their hiding spots, their gaunt, gnashing faces illuminated by the dim glow of lanterns within the cabins.
With a terrifying howl, these monsters of the woods would hurl rocks, branches, and other unholy projectiles at the windows of the passenger trains. The deafening clatter of stone against glass sent shivers down the spines of the unfortunate travelers. Desperation and fear etched onto their faces as they huddled inside, praying that the speeding locomotive would carry them to safety.
Some claimed to have seen the creatures in those fleeting moments, their eyes meeting those of the accursed beings as they peered from the train's windows. The twisted visages haunted their nightmares for years to come.
To this day, the rock ledges around the geocache remain untouched by most, a place shrouded in mystery and dread. Those who dare to venture there at night, when the moon casts eerie shadows among the ancient stones, may still hear the distant, ghostly wails of the monsters of the woods, forever condemned to haunt this forsaken place.
