Please note that this series of caches requires a kayak or small boat. The caches are not accessible from the towpath, are impractical to be found from a canal barge, and swimming is prohibited!

Leeds Canal by Kayak is a series of four caches placed on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in Armley, near Leeds. The route takes you a short distance from where Kirkstall Viaduct crosses the canal, to near Spring Garden Lock. All of these caches require a kayak, canoe, dinghy or similar craft. It is not possible to swim for them because the Canal and River Trust prohibit swimming on all canals. Remember, it's an urban canal!
In order to use a kayak on the canal, you will need a licence. There are a few ways to do this, which is explained on the Canal and River Trust website at https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/things-to-do/canoeing-and-kayaking-near-me/licensing-your-canoe.
You search for these caches at your own risk. You should ensure that you have a suitably safe craft and safety equipment, and know how to use both and what to do if you get into trouble. I would recommend going in a group or being accompanied by a friend on the bank - they can take photos!
There used to be a big rusty barge here which I originally hid the cache on. Just my luck, it was removed for scrap soon after! Nevertheless, I found a new spot for it. Enjoy your paddle!
