Simmons Arboretum --CONGRATULATIONS tlbaker FTF!!
This area needed a Travel Bug Hotel.
You will need to pull up to the North Bay gate, no code needed, It is the only access to the Arboretum. I was told by the city that it is OK to enter.
This park has been run down for a long time. The Parks and Recreation department have been working to bring the glory back. Most of the trails have new slag. They have removed a few bridges and rebuilt some. They still have work to do so please do not cross a bridge that looks suspect. They have plans to rebuild the marsh overlook, and put wooden walking paths where the path tends to wash out. You will have to walk off the path a little ways, but you can see the spot from the path. I will remove the ‘Dangerous Area’ attribute once all repairs are done. If you like a good walk in the woods you will like this place (might want to bring mosquito spay). Happy Hunting!!
