Until recently, there was another geocache in this spot. However, it appears that the placer was no longer active and the cache had fallen into serious disrepair. The next time I was in the area, I replaced the container - which was a brittle plastic jug that looked like someone had stomped it - with a new Lock N Lock container. Shortly thereafter, it had a rash of DNFs and went into :"Hey what's the status of this thing" disabled listing. Since the owner never responded, it got archived. I was back out into the area today (9-24-23) and hiked back to see if there were any remnants left, figuring whoever destroyed the original one took the new one. I was rather surprised to find the replacement intact, untouched, and right where it was supposed to be! Since the original has been archived (and long abandoned), I've decided to just start it affresh. New Cache. New Name. New Placer. Same Spot. It is barely off the paved trail.
