We hebben onze krachten gebundeld om tot een leuke kerstserie te komen. Althans, dat hopen we. In ieder geval hebben wij er al aardig wat lol aan beleefd. Wie zijn wij? TeamSB&MB en DeborahVanDerLinden.
Kerstcaches
De kerstcaches zullen gepubliceerd worden aansluitend aan het Kerstevent op 26 november. Er zullen een paar verschillende cachetypes uit komen in deze gezamenlijke kerstserie. Mocht je eind december de kerstcaches nog niet gedaan hebben, dan kun je ze altijd nog combineren met het Kerstevent op 29 december.
Waar is de cache?
Dit is een ReWind Wherigo, gemaakt door technetium. De cartridge is zwaar geïnspireerd op de originele "Reverse Box" van Waldmeister. Bij een standaard reserve Wherigo krijg je de afstand tot de cache. Deze ReWind is anders. Hier krijg je niet de afstand, maar de richting tot de cache. Niet exact, want dan kun je ook met een paar pogingen de locatie bepalen, maar een van de vier hoofd windrichtingen. Voor iedereen die deze vorm van Wherigo niet kent, is dit zeker een leuke manier om het te ontdekken.
Goden
Boreas
De god van de noordenwind, en brenger van de koude winter. Met zijn schelp is hij van verre te horen.
Apeliotes
De god van de oostenwind. Een vriend van de boeren, draagt fruit en graan.
Notos
De god van de zuidenwind. Giet water uit een vaas. Hij brengt regen en vocht.
Zephyrus
De god van de westenwind. Brenger van licht lente en vroege zomer briesjes. Hij draagt lentebloemen in de plooien van zijn mantel.

Om deze Wherigo te kunnen spelen, moet u de cartridge downloaden. Klik op onderstaande afbeelding om naar de downloadpagina te gaan.
Startcode:
Als je de cartridge start heb je een code nodig. Voer de code in de cartridge in en volg de windrichting. De code is niet hoofdlettergevoelig. Streepjes, punten, spaties en alles wat geen letter is, kan worden weggelaten. Om deze code te vinden zul je nog even moeten puzzelen:
U kunt uw oplossing valideren met certitude.
Zodra je in de buurt van de cache bent, krijg je de eindcoördinaten. We lezen graag in je logs terug hoeveel stappen je nodig had om deze cache te vinden. Veel plezier en succes!
Als je de Wherigo app nog niet hebt, dan kun je deze vinden door op het Wherigo-logo te klikken.
Downloaden van een Wherigo
Het downloaden van de cartridge wil niet altijd lukken. Als je voor het eerst een cartridge wil downloaden, dan kan het zijn dat je eerst een keer moet inloggen via de website www.wherigo.com. Mogelijk moet je dan de voorwaarden accepteren. Om via je telefoon cartridges te kunnen downloaden, moet je ingelogd zijn in de app. Inloggen in de app gaat via "instellingen" en daarna "inloggegevens". Je logt in met je inloggegevens van geocaching.
Als het downloaden via de telefoon niet lukt, kan het zijn dat je nog een aanpassing moet doen in de instellingen van je telefoon. Ga naar instellingen, app-beheer, app lijst, WhereYouGo, standaard openen, ondersteunende links. Daar moeten "wherigo.com" en "www.wherigo.com" aan staan.
Je kunt de cartridge ook downloaden via de computer. Als je daarna je telefoon met je computer verbindt, kun je het gwc-bestand in de juiste folder op je telefoon zetten. Ik adviseer om de cartridge thuis te downloaden en te checken of het werkt op je apparaat, zeker als je voor de eerste keer een cartridge gaat downloaden.
Vervoermiddel
Deze caches zijn met de fiets te doen. Niet overal is te fietsen, soms zal de fiets aan de hand mee moeten.
Houdbaarheidsdatum
Kerstcaches hebben per definitie een beperkte houdbaarheid. In dit geval ongeveer tot 1 maart 2024.

CO's working together
We have joined forces to create a fun Christmas series. At least, we hope so. In any case, we have had quite a bit of fun with it. Who are we? TeamSB&MB and DeborahVanDerLinden.
Christmas caches
The Christmas caches will be published following the Christmas event on November 26th. There will be a few different cache types in this joint Christmas series. When it is the end of December and you have not yet found the Christmas caches, you can combine them with the Christmas event on December 29th.
Where is the cache?
This is a ReWind Wherigo, created by technetium. The cartridge is heavily inspired by the original "Reverse Box", created by Waldmeister. In a standard reverse cache, you get the distance to the cache. This ReWind cache is different. Here you do not get the distance, but the direction of the cache. Not exactly, because then you can determine the location with a couple tries, but one of the four cardinal directions. If you don't know this kind of Wherigo, this is a nice way to get to know them.
Gods
Boreas
The god of the north wind and bringer of cold winter. Holding a conch shell he can be heard from far away.
Apeliotes
The got of the east wind. A friend of the farmers, is carrying fruit and grain.
Notos
The God of the south wind. Pouring water from a vase. He brings rain and damp.
Zephyrus
God of the west wind. Bringer of light spring and early summer breezes. Carrying spring flowers in the folds of his mantle.

To play this Wherigo, you need to download the cartridge. Click on the image below to go tot he download page.
Start code:
When you start the cartridge you need a code. Enter the code into the cartridge and follow the cardinal direction. The code is not case sensitive. Dashes, periods, spaces and anything that is not a letter can be omitted. To find the code, you will need to solve a puzzle:

When you are close the the cache, you will receive the coordinates. We would love to read the amount of steps you needed in your online log entry. Have fun and succes!

Downloading a cartridge
Downloading the cartridge will not always work. If you want to download a cartridge for the first time, you may first have to log in via the website www.wherigo.com. You may then have to accept the terms and conditions. To download cartridges from your phone, you must be logged in to the app. Logging in to the app is done via "settings" and then "login details". You log in with your geocaching login details.
If you can't download from your phone, you may need to make another adjustment to your phone's settings. Go to settings, app management, app list, WhereYouGo, open by default, supporting links. It should say "wherigo.com" and "www.wherigo.com".
You can also download the cartridge on your computer first. After that, when you connect your phone to your computer, you can put the gwc file in the appropriate folder on your phone. I recommend downloading the cartridge at home and checking if it works on your device, especially if you are going to download a cartridge for the first time.
Transportation
These caches can be reached by bike. It is not possible to cycle everywhere. Sometimes you will need to walk.
Expiration date
By definition Christmas caches have a limited shelf life. In this case approximately until March 1st 2024.
