An eclipse is an awe-inspiring celestial event that drastically changes the appearance of the two biggest objects we see in our sky: our Sun and Moon. On Earth, people experience solar eclipses when Earth, the Moon, and the Sun line up. This eclipse in Houston will be partial (with magnitude 90%) but it will still be spectacular to see!
NOTE: Special glasses are needed to view the eclipse . Purchase Your Glasses From A Reputable Dealer. Safe solar viewers are thousands of times darker and must comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard. Look for the ISO mark and ISO 12312-2:2015 This certifies that your glasses are safe for eclipse viewing.
If you don’t have eclipse glasses, you can use an indirect viewing method, such as a pinhole projector, which projects an image of the Sun onto a nearby surface.
(Free, Special viewing glasses will be available on a first come first serve basis.)
Hope to see you there!
