I always enjoy a trip back to one of my kids' favorite camping places, Portola Redwoods State Park, full of "spooky trees" as my kids used to call them. It also has a nice waterfall that was still running in early Fall, so I decided to place a cache to mark the location. At the posted coordinates you should came across this signpost.
Decipher the runes and you can find the cache. In case you're having trouble with the photo, the first line says ᚵᛝᛔᚻᛠᛟᚥ ᛨᚻᛪᚵᛊ and the second says ᚵᛝᛔᚻᛠᛟᚥ ᚩᛪᚦᚵᚥ. Convert those runes to English letters, then give them a value (A=1 ... J=0, K=1, ... Z=6), then solve for the final coordinates.
Final location: N 37° ᛪᚥ.ᚵᚥᚩ W 122° ᛪᚩ.ᚦᛊᛝ. The final is not too far away. Checksum for N = 31, W = 15. I imagine at times the area can be busy, so use stealth, and please replace as found.
At the time of posting, there was a $10 entry fee to Portola Redwoods State Park. $9 for senior citizens (just saying).
Congratulations to ecrane for the FTF!!
