This cache has been placed in a very historic place. This location is the site of one of the first sessions held of the Ohio Supreme Court. Court was held here in the home of Matthias Lower which was the temporary seat of Justice for Columbiana County. The Supreme Court Session was held on the 14th day of June 1803. Samuel Huntington and William Spriggs presided.
The cache is placed in memory of Carl Landis who previously had a cache in this location and was our family’s first introduction to the hobby. We went from here to enjoy many other caches placed in the area by Mr. Landis. His cache id was CarlfromOH.
The current location has served as a place of rest for many years. There is still a picnic table for those of you out for the day. Bring a snack or your lunch. The site is under the control of the Columbiana County Park Dist. The cache has been placed with their permission. Dawn to Dusk only please.
The cache should not be hard to find, but remember that the way to the cache is through the rock.
