Nanko Park is located in Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, and is said to be the oldest park in Japan. It was designated as a national historic site on December 9, 1924. It was built in 1801 by Sadanobu Matsudaira, the 12th lord of the Shirakawa domain. The park includes Nanko Shrine, which enshrines Sadanobu, and Suirakuen, an authentic Japanese garden.
There are several walking courses within Nanko Park, and we hid the cache on one of them, the ``Southern Lakeside Course.''
南湖公園は福島県白河市にあり、日本最古の公園といわれています。1924年12月9日、国の史跡に指定されました。1801年、12代白河藩主松平定信公によって造られました。公園内には定信公を祭神としている「南湖神社」、本格的な日本庭園「翠楽園」などがあります。
南湖公園内には散策コースがいくつかありますが、その中の1つ「南の湖畔コース」にキャッシュを隠しました。
