Geocache Description:

On the steep sides of Craig Tyleri overlooking Abertillery is the beautiful gentle walk through Arail Bank - Abertillery Woods.  These woods are owned by Natural Resources Wales who I thank for their permission and guidelines on placing geocaches.  Once the site of a major coal mining centre that created one of the biggest towns in Wales, Abertillery was transformed in the 1990s into this peaceful and beautiful valley.

The path offers gentle to moderate climbs and is not overgrown so should be family friendly.  It can get muddy in places so good boots are needed.  All caches are close to the path so no treacherous descending or climbing is required.

A small parking area and road side parking is available just passed the row of houses, alternatively you can park in the large car park of Abertillery Park 7am to 7pm and walk up through the woods to the road.  There is a bus stop just past the parking area.

I have placed a series of Halloween themed novelty caches for family fun and spooky surprises.  Halloween rewards abound for the young or young at heart that make it to the end.

The first in the series is a traditional cache, little ones may need a lift.  You'll need to bring your own pen and tweezers for this one.
